Abbotsley Members' Squash Club herein after called "the Club"
The complete collection of players and members who play at Abbotsley Squash
Club.
Mission Statement
To provide excellent Squash facilities to all of its represented members
- To provide internal Leagues
- To provide regular competitions
- To provide teams to support play in the Cambridgeshire Leagues
- for both Junior and Senior play
- To provide supervised Junior sessions
- To provide Honours boards for competitions and roles
- Open

- Junior Under 16
- Junior Under 19
- Winter League Points winner
- Handicap winner
- Club Captain
- To provide a Committee to support the running of "the Club"
Committee
- The Committee shall comprise members from "the Club"
- The committee shall be re-elected on a yearly basis at an "AGM" to perform
the declared roles
- The roles shall be as declared below
Chairperson
- To act as the spokesman for the Club between its members and the Facilities
Management
- To act as the focal point for the Club for all externally received matters
- To be a signatory authorising Club expenditure
- To chair yearly "AGM"
- To chair any Committee meetings throughout the year
- To ensure that any problems are fully aired and discussed to the satisfaction
of "the Club"
Secretary
- To ensure that records are taken for every formal meeting of "the
Club"
Treasurer
- To ensure that all of the finances of "the Club" are fully documented
- To ensure that all of the finances of "the Club"are maintained
- To be a signatory authorising Club expenditureof "the Club"
Club Captain
- To act as the focal point for all team matters received externally
- To ensure that all Team Captains are chosen and published on "the
Club" Notice Board prior to the beginning of the Squash Season.
- To ensure that team affiliation fees for "the Club" are paid
for Cambridgeshire League matches
- To ensure that all members are made aware of any organised tournaments/events
within the County (outside "the Club" environment)
- To ensure in conjunction with the Tournament Organiser, that tournaments
are properly seeded.
Senior Team Captains
- To be the Team Captain for the nominated team
- To ensure that team selection takes place together with all other team
Captains and "the Club" Captain, at the beginning of each Squash
Season
- To ensure that all teams are declared and posted on "the club"
notice board prior to each team game
- To ensure that adequate reserves are nominated for each team game
- To ensure that the team fees for their team are collected
- To ensure that the team finances are settled in a timely manner i.e. bar
bills, food, court costs, balls
- To provide match reports to the Publicity manager and Webmaster for all
team games
- To ensure that courts are booked and food ordered to support home team
games
- To ensure that teams arrive on time at away matches
- To be responsible for team behaviour at all times
League Organiser
- To ensure that "the Club" leagues are updated on a monthly basis
in accordance with the Rules
- To ensure that past records are passed to the Webmaster for inclusion on
the Web site
Tournament Organiser
- To ensure that a calendar of tournaments is agreed and posted on "the
Club" notice board at the beginning of the Squash Season.
- To ensure that for each tournament a notice is posted on "the Club"
Notice Board in good time, indicating the nature of the Tournament, its
rules, its costs, trophies and venue.
- To ensure in conjunction with "the Club" Captain, that tournaments
are properly seeded
- To ensure that adequate draw sheets are displayed prior to the tournament
indicating who is playing whom and when
- To ensure that all revenue due for the Tournament is collected and delivered
to the Treasurer
- To ensure that an account of the tournament finances is provided to the
Treasurer
- To arrange for the provision of trophies for every tournament
- To be responsible for ensuring that the "Honours Board" is updated on
a yearly basis to reflect the outcome of the Tournaments
- To provide reports on the tournaments to the Publicity Manager and Webmaster
Junior Chairperson
- To provide organised squash for Junior members.
- To provide coaching for Junior Members
- To ensure a safe environment is provided for Junior Members
- To be part of the England Squash Child Protection Policy
- To support the entry of Junior Teams in the Cambridgeshire Junior
Leagues.
- To ensure that all Junior members are made aware of any organised Junior
tournaments/events within the County
- To ensure that Junior Tournaments are properly seeded.

- To maintain "the Club" website as directed by the Committee
- To receive and publish regular team reports on "the Club" website
Club Night Organiser
- To ensure that all excess monies that are received are handed to the
Treasurer
- To ensure that all participants pay their Club Night dues.
- To ensure that all court fees are paid on the night
- To ensure that all court time is played fairly e.g. no excessive "we're on
the last point" 10 minutes after due off time
Publicity Manager
- To receive and publish regular team reports in the local newspapers
