Club Night

Since its opening in 1976, Club Night has proved to be very popular.

In the early days the night had to be split into two sessions as there were so many people attending.

Nowadays though, with a rather more modest membership, the turnout is reduced to just a few who attend on a regular basis.

Club nights are on a Monday from 1850 onwards using currently courts 2 and 3 and ocassionally 4 if the numbers warrant.

All are welcome to attend, including non members and guests.

A mixture of playing standards usually attends.

A Team Player/Coach may be available during the evening.

Payment

With the current all inclusive squash membership, there is no payment for the courts except for non-members/guests.

However it has been agreed and ratified through the Club Committee that a levy of £0.50 be paid by all to contribute to club funds.

Non members/guests also pay £4.00 to the Club Night Organiser who will pass this on to Reception..

No one will be allowed to participate without paying.

Booking Procedure

On payment of the entry fee, your name will be added to the list of participants. A number is thus allocated to your name.

A peg of your number is then added to the queue of participants on the board provided.

The first in the queue chooses his/her opponent from the next four in the queue and places their peg on top of his/her own (exception see Coaching).

When the court becomes available, both pegs are then transferred to the relevant court marked on the board, and a 20 minute period is played on the court.

After the 20 minutes on court, the two pegs are put back to the end of the queue on the board. A cycle is then followed until all participants have played 3 times. Then off to the bar!

Coaching/Team Member Playing

Coaching/Team Member Playing (if available on the night) is for a 20 minute period instead of play with another in the queue.

In case everyone wants Coaching/Team Member Playing, it will be monitored and restricted to ensure fairness to all.
